About Health Care for America Now (HCAN)

Health Care for America Now

Health Care for America Now (HCAN) is a national organization, with a mission to organize for quality, affordable health care for all. HCAN has more than 1,100 member organizations, which have endorsed our statement of common purposes, summarized below. From 2008 through 2010, HCAN led a national grassroots campaign to support passage of comprehensive health care reform, leading to the signing on March 23, 2010 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. HCAN is now organizing support for implementing the ACA so as to fulfill its promise of making quality health care affordable. HCAN is also working to protect our nation's national health care programs for the elderly and low-income Americans, Medicare and Medicaid. For information on HCAN go to
